AAS 215. The Police and the Ghetto
Examination of the various perspectives on the nature of police roles in urban African-American communities including perceptions of police as law enforcement agents and as preservers of social order. Functional analysis of crime and of police roles in the ghettoization of communities. (Offered spring semesters.)
