An examination of African-American life through the works of both African-American and white writers. The course will look at the inter-relationships and differences between African-American and white perspectives. Authors such as W. E. B. Du Bois, Melville, Wright, Baldwin, Twain, Faulkner, Ellison, Welty, Morrison and Styron will be read. (Same course as AAL 340) |
