PLS 401. Seminar in Latina/o Issues: Gender, Race, Ethnicity, and the Legal System

A senior seminar that will explore Hispanic issues through an in-depth study of areas including crime, race and ethnic disparities, gender, language and culture, policing, courts and Latina/o litigants, urban politics, immigration laws and policies; legal representation, administrative policy and interest groups, and criminal justice themes in literature; analysis and evaluation of aspects most relevant to Latina/o communities. Prerequisite: English 102. In addition, Senior standing; or permission of the section instructor.
