PSC 301. The Police Manager

Consideration of contemporary management theory and practice in the context of the management of police organizations. The police organization as a dynamic social system. The behavioral and social skills required of the police manager to deal effectively with a rapidly changing community and cadre of police officers. Behavioral implications in the interaction between individuals and groups in the police organization and its processes; power, decision making, communicating and leadership in police organizations. Organizational development issues and future developments in police management. (Offered every semester.)
Prerequisite: English 102. In addition: English 101 and Police Science 201.
