This course provides an examination of the principle theories and experiments concerning the application of psychological science to work organizations. Industrial psychology typically covers individual-level phenomena such as employee selection, compensation, performance appraisal, job satisfaction, absenteeism, job commitment, work motivation, career development, and job training. Organizatonal psychology typically covers group-level phenomena such as organizational development, organizational design, organizatonal culture and change, team building and group performance, leadership and power, work design, organizational communication, work stress, and work group conflict.(Offered Spring 2007.) |
