PSY 272. Correctional Psychology

Explores the major psychological themes and problems in rehabilitating the offender. Issues investigated will include the functions of the correctional psychologist; the efficacy of behavior modification and other treatment modalities; training and supervision of paraprofessionals in correctional settings; sexuality in prison; community-based corrections; prisoner classifications and assessment; prison violence; and the future of correctional psychology. (Offered every semester.)
Prerequisite: English 101 and Psychology 101.
