SOC 206. The Sociology of Conflict and Dispute Resolution

Focuses on why there are struggles over income, property and power on the interpersonal, community, national, and international levels. Examines the causes of disputes, the difficulties that arise in resolving them, the alternative methods for settling them (conciliation, mediation, arbitration, adjudication) and the advantages of peaceful resolution. (Offered every semester.)
Prerequisite: English 101 and Sociology 101.
