TOX 415. Forensic Pharmacology

The basic principles of pharmacology of drugs of abuse including cocaine, marijuana, sedatives, narcotics, stimulants, antidepressants, as well as chemicals such as alcohol, metals, and designer drugs. Analysis of these chemicals and drugs in a variety of biological specimens using methods such as thin layer chromatography, gas chromatography, mass-spectrometry, and immunoassays. (Offered fall semesters.)
Prerequisite: English 102, Chemistry 315, 320, and 321.
9 hours: 3 hours lecture; 6 hours, laboratory., 4 credits
